When God Seems Distant
•January 9, 2010 • Leave a Comment1 Lord, why are you so far away? Why do you hide when there is trouble? (Psalm 10:1, New Century Version)
Have you ever felt that God was distant? Have you ever felt that God was a million miles away? I have and to be honest it was difficult to deal with. But during those moments I learned some lessons that I probobaly wouldn’t have learned any other way. And I want to share with you some simple truths that will help you during those moments when God seems distant.
1) Never allow what you’re feeling to shake your faith in God. Our feelings will lead us to believe things that aren’t true. Our feelings will cause us to do things that we shouldn’t do. The Bible says, “we walk by faith, not by sight.” Just as we aren’t to trust what we see, we also shouldn’t trust our feelings.
2) God is always the same no matter how we feel. Our feelings doesn’t change the character of God. He may feel distant but in His Word, He promises us “to never leave us or forsake us.” He is present, no matter what we feel.
3) If He feels distant, it’s not because He moved: we did. If there is any distance between us and God, we are the ones who moved. So if He seems distant, we should maybe examine our lives and see if we have drifted.
I hope this helps. And remember to pay attention to what God may be trying to teach you in those moments when He seems distanst. Be blessed.

Do Not Fear!
•January 4, 2010 • Leave a CommentNo need to panic over alarms or surprises, or predictions that doomsday’s just around the corner, Because God will be right there with you; he’ll keep you safe and sound. (Proverbs 3:25-26, The Message)
Here’s a word for you today: You Don’t Have to be Afraid! God has said over and over in the Bible, “Do not fear.” He knows where we are. He knows what we’re going through. He knows when we get scared but He says to us, don’t be afraid.
You don’t have to panic, God is with you. He will keep you safe and sound.
4 Goals for 2010
•January 2, 2010 • Leave a CommentAt the start of a new year everyone sets resolutions or goals that they want to achieve. Well I thought I would share 4 goals of mine for 2010.
#1 – I want to read the Bible more than I ever have before. Psalm 119:97 says, “Oh, how I love your instructions! I think about them all day long.” I want God’s Word to be important to me. I want to love His book.
#2 – I want to pray more. I want to spend more time talking to God.
#3 – I want to fall more in love with Jesus. I want to get closer to Him. I want to be obsessed with Him more than anyone or anything else.
#4 – I want to give more than I ever have. I want to be a more generous person. God is a giver and I desire to follow His example.
These are my goals for 2010. What are your goals for 2010? Do you have any? If not, stop for a moment and think about what you would like accomplish this new year.

CHRISTMAS TIME
•December 20, 2009 • Leave a CommentAt Christmas time it’s easy to get wrapped up in the food, the family, the fellowship, and the giving and receiving of gifts. There’s nothing wrong with these things. I enjoy them as much as anyone else. But we must not forget what Christmas time is all about. Let me share what Christmas time means.
-Christmas time is a time for Celebration. We celebrate the birth of Jesus. We celebrate the fact that God came to earth and He became one of us.
-Christmas time is a time of Salvation. Jesus the Savior was born. Because of His birth, salvation is available to everyone.
Christmas time is a time of Reconciliation. Through salvation, there is reconciliation with God the Father. Because of the birth of Christ, we no longer have to be enemies of God, but we can be sons and daughters.
It’s Christmas time and my prayer is that we won’t forget the reason for the season. Merry Christmas to everyone.
Love & Respect by Emmerson Eggerichs
•December 19, 2009 • Leave a CommentThis is a great book about marriage. The idea behind the book is that a wife’s need for unconditional love is just as important to her as as her husband’s need for unconditional respect is to him. Here’s the book: women want to be loved, men want to be respected. But whenever that desire is unmet, we typically respond by withholding the very thing our spouse desires most.
This book will make you think about your marriage. It will make you think about how you treat your spouse. Anyone who is married or going to be married should read this book. This book is simple to read and I believe that it could possibly change your marriage.
I give 5 stars to Love & Respect.
