This book offers good advice paired with Scripture. Mike Flynt’s “The Power Based Life” is filled with tips to help readers understand that they were created for a purpose and should work toward that purpose. Mike uses examples from his personal life to help the reader understand his points, and all examples are in reference to football.

Mike Flynt’s book is filled with strategies to help find your personal strength. The book is written in a conversational style and weaves scripture throughout.
I thought this book was a little bit too conversational and first-person. And although “Body” is in the subtitle, only a very short last chapter talks about anything related to health. It’s like Flynt forgot he put that in there and realized he needed to write to it.
If you’re looking for a little inspiration, guidance, and strength then you should read The Power Based Life by Mike Flynt.

IS THERE ROOM FOR JESUS IN YOUR LIFE?

JOHN 1:11 – “He came unto his own and his own received him not.”

From the time of His birth until this present day, there have been many people and places that have had no room for Jesus. He has been rejected and unaccepted by many. He was crucified because there was no room for Him. So let me ask you, do you have room for Jesus in your life? Or have other things taken up room in your life that there is no room for Him? Are other things more important than Him?

Has He been crowded out of your life due to your priorities not being in order? Have you gotten so busy that there is no room or time for Him right now? Or maybe you tell yourself that you will make room for Him tomorrow or later in life but not right now?

As hard as this is for me to write, I believe that we if we don’t make room for Him in our lives, He won’t have room for us in eternity. If we reject Him now, in eternity He will reject us and say to us that He never knew us. Our eternity hinges upon what we do with Jesus. If we make room for Him and welcome Him into our lives then He will welcome us into heaven when this life is over. I can’t really put into words how important it is to make room for Jesus in our lives.

If you haven’t made room for Him, I invite you today to ask Him to come into your life.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR WORLD FALLS APART

²⁰ When Job heard this, he got up and tore his robe and shaved his head to show how sad he was. Then he bowed down to the ground to worship God.²¹ He said:
“I was naked when I was born,
and I will be naked when I die.
The Lord gave these things to me,
and he has taken them away.
Praise the name of the Lord.”

They story of Job is one that is familiar to all of us. It leaves us asking the question Why?, and to be honest I don’t fully understand “why” bad things happen to good people. But I believe that there are certain things that we can learn from Job when our world falls apart.

1 – God is Still Worthy of Worship

After Job lost everything: his family, his money, his health, the Bible says that Job fell down and worshiped God. Job understood that know matter how bad his situation was, God was still good. Our circumstances and problems don’t change the character of God. He is still good and worthy of praise but often we allow whats happening to us to determine whether or not we worship. If life is good it’s easy for us to worship but when things are bad we forsake worship and sometimes blame God for our problems. No matter what we face in life: good or bad, God is worthy of worship.

2 – All that We Have Belongs to God

God gives and God takes away. We would have nothing without God. It’s not our stuff, our money, it’s God. He can give it to us and He can take it away. Now you may be wondering why would God take something away from me? Here’s why: He has something better for you or He’s trying to change you. When your world falls apart, don’t focus on you’ve lost but remember what you have left.

3 – Walking Away from God Should Never be an Option

Even after all that happened to Job, he kept his faith in God. He didn’t forsake God. Too many people have blamed God for their problems and walked away from Him. Too many people have felt that God has let them down and that He doesn’t care, so they fall away from Him. When your life falls apart, running away from God is never the right thing to do. In the difficult times of life, we should draw closer to Him and hold onto Him.

At some time in our lives, we will all face difficulty and feel like our world is falling apart. When it does remrmber God is still good. Trust Him and I promise everything will work out for you just as it did for Job.

-TODAY WAS A GOOD DAY AT CHURCH. WE HAD A GREAT CROWD THIS MORNING. THE MUSIC WAS AWESOME THIS MORNING.

-JESUS IS ALIVE. BECAUSE HE LIVES WE CAN LIVE.

-TODAY HAS BEEN A LAZY DAY FOR ME. IT SUCKS THAT THE WEEKEND IS ALMOST OVER AND I HAVE TO GO BACK TO WORK TOMORROW.

THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18, New King James Version)

What is the message of the Cross?

1 – It is a message of Love. The Cross demonstrates God’s love for us. (Rom. 5:8)

2 – It is a message of hope and salvation. Through the Cross, anyone can be saved. Because of the Cross, we have access to God. We can enter into a personal relationship with the Creator and Sustainer of the universe.

3 – It is a message of forgiveness. All of our sins can be wiped away. We can have a brand new life. We can have a clean slate.

4 – It is a message of victory. When Jesus died on the Cross, He defeated Satan and sin. And because He was victorious, we can be victorious.

Thank God for the Cross.

The Willingness of God

God is willing to do more than we think sometimes. I am afraid that we just believe that God can but we have a difficult time believing that he will. So I want to share a few things that I know God is willing to do.
1- GOD IS WILLING TO SAVE ANYONE WHO CALLS ON HIM
Romans 10:13

2-GOD IS WILLING TO PROVIDE FOR OUR NEEDS
Philippians 4:19

3- GOD IS WILLING TO ANSWER OUR PRAYERS
Matthew 7:7

These are just a few things that God is willing to for us. And I believe that there is so much more that God is willing to do for us if we would simply believe. Believe and watch what God can do.
